Norway! Nazi zombies! Scary hilarity! Why is Dead Snow so awesome?! The indie horror comedy that won the Audience Award at Toronto After Dark in 2009 is back and crazier than ever. After screening at Sundance this year, the trailer for Dead Snow 2: Red Vs. Dead has arrived online, and it looks like a complete blast!
We follow Martin as he escapes from the hospital after the events of the first Dead Snow. He then contacts the “Zombie Squad” comprised of Freaks and Geeks and Party Down alum Martin Starr (!!!), comedian Ingrid Haas, and Jocelyn DeBoer, but they have bad news. Apparently, these Nazi Zombies aren’t your typical run of the mill braaaaains kind of zombies. These zombies are the “sieg heil” kind of zombies, back to finish the job they started 100 years ago. Zoinks!
The plot synopsis reads: “If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you’d have to assume that things couldn’t get much worse. In Martin’s case, that was only the beginning.”
Director Tommy Wirkola returns to direct the sequel, and the production has definitely upped the ante. This time around we get huge tanks, blue zombie magic, scalping and intestines – lots and lots of intestines…
Cuddle up to your Valentine when Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead hits theaters in the U.S. on February 14!
