When you make a movie about Nazi zombies, you have to have a good sense of humor, right? When you make a sequel to a movie about Nazi zombies that looks like this, it would appear that all bets are off in the best way possible.
Now comes one of the most creative pieces of movie art that I’ve seen in a long time — behold the teaser poster for Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead.
Perhaps it’s my incredibly goofy sense of humor but that tagline is genius, as far as I’m concerned. An unapologetic fan of the first Dead Snow, I can’t wait for the follow-up, which is also directed by Dead Snow‘s Tommy Wirkola and co-written by Wirkola, Stig Frode Henriksen (also of the original Dead Snow) and Vegar Hoel. Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead features returning cast member Norwegian actor Vegar Hoel as Martin, the sole survivor of the first Dead Snow’s zombie bloodbath. Silicon Valley‘s Martin Starr co-stars alongside Hoel and Norwegian actor Orjan Gamst, who plays the evil zombie warlord Herzog. No word yet on whether he’s a warrior-poet like Werner.
According to the press release, Dead Snow 2 sees the zombies from Dead Snow return to settle old scores. Red vs. Dead is the continuation of the exciting and ridiculous 2009 film and follows Martin as he fights back against a Fuhrer with a score to settle and an axe –tank, hammer, shovel, knife and sledgehammer — to grind.
Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, starring Vegar Hoel, Martin Starr, Orjan Gamst, Ingrid Haas, and Jocelyn DeBoer, hits theaters October 10, 2014.
