Conan O’Brien has gotten a lot of comedic mileage out of his ongoing “Clueless Gamer” series on Conan, but what if O’Brien is only terrible at games because they’re not giving him what he really wants? Last week on Conan, O’Brien visited YouTube Space New York City to check out the VR lab, but there was really only one thing on his mind.
It took O’Brien just under a minute to begin asking about the VR possibilities for porn, and he kept bringing it up throughout the rest of the clip. O’Brien even offered his theories about how a full body VR porn experience would work, but he was probably kidding…we hope. And while there probably will be a lot more VR porn in the future, O’Brien was forced to make due with the decidedly non-pornographic VR simulators that were provided by YouTube. By the end of the video, O’Brien had seemingly found a willing partner for his virtual desires, but that avatar was probably not his first choice.
Along the way, O’Brien tried out other activities, including using his hands to create a pretty good caricature of himself that only he and the viewers could see. O’Brien was less successful as a virtual cook and an office drone, although he did seem to have a lot of fun antagonizing his artifical co-workers and bending the rules of reality by using the VR copy machine to create duplicates of his stappler and his brain.
VR may also be the only level of reality in which O’Brien can easily win a boxing match, especially since the simulator didn’t seem to be that interested in fighting back. But hey, a win is a win!
