We’ve got something special for you this week at the Nerdist Podcast Network. Oh, we have great guests across the board, including OK Go‘s return to the Nerdist Podcast, Sleepy Hollow musical composer Robert Lydecker visiting the Sleepycast, Kate Berlant telling Lies… but first, the special.
You may have seen our post last week about Saturday’s benefit show in Los Angeles to benefit The Detroit Creativity Project. And you might have thought, man, I’d have LOVED to see Keegan-Michael Key, Thrilling Adventure Hour‘s Marc Evan Jackson and Paget Brewster, Silicon Valley‘s Thomas Middleditch, (our own) Kumail Nanjani, and Martin Starr with his band Common Rotation, Sara Watkins, and Allee Willis. Well, then, here’s our surprise: we’ll have a special one-off podcast for you with exactly that, the benefit show in all its glory. Remember, though, that it was a benefit, and the Detroit Creativity Project, which offers improv training to middle school and high school students in Detroit and inspires confidence and creativity for kids who need it, can use your help. Read about the project here, and donate to the project at this link. And keep an eye peeled and your ears open early this week for the special episode right here at Nerdist.com and on iTunes.
And there’s more. As mentioned above, OK Go comes back to the Nerdist Podcast to talk about Halloween, the Muppets, Flash Gordon, and their increasingly intricate videos. Tom Bergeron bonds with fellow hosting ace Chris Hardwick on the Nerdist Podcast, too, reminiscing about Chris’ appearance on The Hollywood Squares and talking about meditation, career ups and downs, and silent film comedies. And six of the seven members of The Birthday Boys crowd into the studio for a Nerdist Podcast that involves an erotic cake, working with Bob Odenkirk, and, of all things, Home Alone.
Stand-up comic Jared Logan guests on The Indoor Kids this week, and if you’re familiar with the absurdist comedy of Kate Berlant, you’ll know why this week’s Lies with Sara Schaefer is a must-listen. You’ll also get part two of Bill Buescher and Ian Davis’ visit to the showroom for The Todd Glass Show, and actor/writer/director Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip) trades facts on Today We Learned. And writer/producer Erica Messer discusses her work on Criminal Minds, Charmed, Alias, and more on Nerdist Writers Panel, while Solomon Georgio is on the couch for Terrified with Dave Ross.
And Sleepy Hollow fans will want to recap Monday’s episode of the show with Tuesday morning’s Sleepycast: The Official Sleepy Hollow Podcast, on which Robert Lydecker, the man behind the show’s music, and writers Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves join Clarke for the post-mortem.
There will be more, of course, but that’s what we know for sure for now. And you will not want to miss a moment. So go to the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage, listen, subscribe, and join us at the Nerdist Podcast Network Facebook page and Like it, too. Should be fun.
