Cute, cuddly, and disturbed are all adjectives that come to mind when I think about today’s playlist. Folks, who doesn’t like an innocent-looking talking bear? Show of hands? Oh wait, Teddy Ruxpin and Ted were rather terrifying, weren’t they. OK, I can’t guarantee you won’t be unsettled by Conan’s WikiBear, but the Siri-inspired toy will definitely make you laugh. Don’t worry he’s all information and very little bite. Although, I’d get your defensive drone ready, just in case.
Now imagine a Reggie Watts doppelgänger (minus the graphic sweater and shades) belting out zingers like a pro. You don’t see it? Let me assist with that. Witness @midnight’s first ever #PointsMe comedian, Chris Cubas, join host, Chris Hardwick, and fellow contestants, Steve Agee and Tom Lennon, for a match-up unlike no other. After you’ve throughly consumed that adorable gameplay allow your Grinch-like heart to be poked some more. Behold powerful psychic powers in play as Seth Meyer’s Italian greyhound, Frisbee, tests actual clairvoyant abilities on Late Night. This knitted fashion sporting pooch sure is chatty. Ready, set, press play!
If you are a member of Team Coco, then you’ll be familiar with the all knowing WikiBear. The teddy made several appearances on Conan before where he left both the audience and host illuminated and mildly jolted. In this clip you’ll be amazed just how much WikiBear knows about children’s lit. As for the comprehensive tangents the toy takes, be afraid, be very afraid.
In January @midnight launched the #PointsMe challenge where the Comedy Central program sought out to turn one of their fans into a player. The challenge was met by many a humorous Tweeter, but only one winner was selected. Drum roll, please….Chris Cubas, was crowned the #PointsMe champion and passed the ultimate improv test with flying colors. See the Austin-based bartender give veteran comedians Steve Agee and Tom Lennon a run for their money in this “Other City Slogans” round. Points!
We can finally say this playlist has gone to the dogs. Late Night’s host Seth Meyers owns an adorable canine named Frisbee. He thought it would be a great idea to see what exactly the seven-pound greyhound thinks about all day. Seth invited a bevy of dog psychics to spend some time with Frisbee and relay her thoughts to the audience. Let’s just say I now know what my next occupation will be. Now stare at the Rorschach, Fido.
