The Wall has a ten episode order from NBC and it will feature a competition between two-person teams, but the twist is that the teams will be comprised of either family members, close friends, or people with shared life experiences. The teams will reportedly “compete for cash that can be won or lost in an instant, depending upon whether a ball bounces their way, or a trivia question is answered correctly.”
In a statement, Hardwick said, “I love game shows, and partnering with LeBron James and NBC to potentially give away millions of dollars to people who deserve it is an incredible opportunity. (I’m sorry, NBC, I’m hoping to give away a lot of your money).”
The Wall will be Hardwick’s third TV series currently on the air, after his popular Comedy Central game show, @Midnight, and AMC’s Talking Dead, the official The Walking Dead aftershow. In addition to his other Nerdist duties, Hardwick is also the co-host of the Nerdist podcast. Hardwick is also slated to tape his next stand-up comedy special, Funcomfortable in early 2016.
Hardwick will also executive produce The Wall with Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment and Glassman Media. A premiere date for The Wall was not included in the announcement.
