Our fearless leader stopped by Conan last night, and the truth came out: He’s no longer allowed on the set of The Price Is Right. He can thank his happy inability to put down the social media for the banning. Make sure you give the clip a watch.
Apparently, the folks behind the show – and it’s a very unguarded set which just seems downright implausible – found out that Chris and his pals at Talking Dead were having perhaps a little more fun than they should with the props and games of the classic gameshow thanks to some Instagram posts.
Any avid listener of the Nerdist Podcast will remember that Chris has talked about The Price Is Right set and games being easily accessible because they shoot the show on the soundstage just one floor underneath Talking Dead. I have a library’s worth of memories of watching The Price Is Right whenever I was home sick from school in the 80s and 90s (this was back when we had 6 channels and were happy with them), so it’s pretty awesome to realize that celebrities have the same nostalgia for the big wheel that spins and blips. Well it doesn’t really blip, but it would be freakin’ awesome if it did.
Is anything better than watching grown adults like Josh McDermitt, Tyler James Williams and Chris freak out over a perfect roll? I really don’t know that there is except maybe for making that perfect roll yourself and getting to freak out on your own. It’s too bad the show knows about the hijinks and told them to stop. But there’s always next season when no one’s paying attention and the wheel is unattended…right?
