The genius and talent of one Reggie Watts cannot be overstated. His ability to make up songs using his voice and multiple tracks is a marvel every time we see it, and that happens a lot given that he’s the sidekick and musical guru on IFC’s Comedy Bang! Bang!, which is currently in the middle of its third season and is slated to come back in 2015 for a 40-episode fourth season. That’s a whole lot of Reggie and a whole lot of amazing, weird and funny tunes.
One of the best parts of Reggie being on the show is when he and the guest that week riff a song together as part of the web series “Reggie Makes Music.” As you know, our own music-loving leader Chris Hardwick was recently a guest on the television program, so of course that means he got down with Reggie for some extemporaneous soulifying. The song Chris and Reggie create is about, of all things, lonely horses who might be hollow on the inside but maybe only because they’re so lonely. Reggie starts rapping at one point about pony hair pie. It’s a thing to behold. Enjoy!
Hardwick channeling Robert Plant is always a good time. But seriously, why is that pony so lonely? Nearest I can figure, some whiny spoiled little girl asked for one, her parents got one for her, and then she got tired of him after a few days and now he just sits in the tiny stable. That MIGHT have come way too quickly to me. At any rate.
