If there’s one thing that Nerdist founder, CEO, and benevolent leader Chris Hardwick has a knack for, it’s hosting TV shows. He is currently the captain of AMC’s Talking Dead, Comedy Central’s @Midnight, and is set to host LeBron James’ NBC game show, The Wall.
But Chris is a proactive professional, so he’s added another show to his resumé: KiMiddle, a not-at-all fake “Jimmy Kimmel Live mid-show recap show” that not only airs during the show itself, but on the same network and on the same set as Jimmy Kimmel Live.
As flattered as he was, Kimmel still took exception to another show, even one about his own show, taking place during the exact same broadcast slot as his own. But as Hardwick pointed out, it really would not make sense for his show to take place during any other time: “It’s called KiMiddle, not KimAfter,” Chris told Kimmel.
KiMiddle had a very esteemed guest for its first episode: parking lot security guard Guillermo, who broke down the finer points of this thought process during the program, which consists mostly of hunger.
To go even further down the rabbit hole of this talk show Russian nesting doll situation, Guillermo hosts his own mid-show recap show of KiMiddle, and while he hits some snags in his debut hosting gig, including blatantly mispronouncing the name of his guest, it seems like a hit to us.
