Chris Hardwick is the busiest guy we know. From hosting shows like @midnight and Talking Dead (which just got turned into a year-round gig), the Nerdist podcast, and performing stand-up, you’d think he’d have zero free time for any new projects, right? This of course is a rhetorical question: Chris has decided to create and host a new music and comedy festival called ID10T, and we could not be more stoked for the lineup.
The festival will take place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Silicon Valley, June 24-25, and tickets start at a $55 general admission early bird price. It’s no secret that Chris is a huge fan of good music and good comedy, so it is fitting that he is curating an experience that combines the best of both worlds.
With bands like Weezer, Ok Go, Car Seat Headrest, Girl Talk, and TV on the Radio on the music side and comedians like Demetri Martin, Michael Ian Black, Nikki Glaser, Garfunkel and Oates, and Michael Che on the comedy side, this event is going to be packed with a ton of talented people. There will also be a Mad Decent dance tent featuring people like Madeon, Zeds Dead, and Troyboi to keep the party going.
Of course, what makes a great festival isn’t just great acts. It’s creating a holistic experience for guests, mixing the festival spirit with a bit of Comic-Con indebted convention fun. So not only is cosplay encouraged for ID10T, but you can expect to see exhibitors like Boom! Studios, Oni Press, Valiant Comics, and Insight Editions, among others. The event is also still accepting exhibitor applicants, so that list will definitely continue to grow.
ID10T will be a fantastic marriage of all the things you love about concerts, live comedy, with a dash of Comic-Con. If that sounds just like your kind of fun, tickets for the event are going on sale this Friday, March 10 at 10:00 am PST, so be sure to set a calendar reminder!
Are you excited about the ID10T festival? Who are you most pumped to see on the lineup? Tell us about it in the comments!
