Amazon Prime has revealed its latest original programming pickups, and Nerdist founder, Chris Hardwick’s new kids series, Danger & Eggs is among the shows coming to Amazon!
Hardwick is producing Danger & Eggs alongside Shadi Petosky, his partner in Puny Entertainment. Yo Gabba Gabba! veteran Mike Owens co-created Danger & Eggs with Petosky, and the series follows “the endless adventures of fearless D.D. Danger and her ever-cautious best friend, a giant, talking egg named Phillip.” The official description adds that D.D. is “an energetic future stuntwoman [who] is always chasing her next big thrill. Lucky for her, Phillip is always there with jerry-rigged safety mechanisms to more responsibly–and sometimes absurdly–make her thrill-seeking dreams come true.”
“I always wanted to make cartoons and now I get to make cartoons through Puny!” said Hardwick. “Shadi and Mike created a hilarious pilot with fantastic characters and the response to the show has been stellar. SO MANY thanks to Amazon! BEST. XMAS. PRESENT. EVER.”
Petosky added, “When Chris and I partnered up at Comic-Con I wouldn’t have dreamed we’d be going to series a few month later. Amazon is so fast! I am beyond excited to be running a show on an auteur-driven network with Mike, Eric, Chris, Andy and Aidy. We get to make a beautiful, funny, and heartfelt traditionally animated show. Such a dream.”
Last July, Hardwick joined Petosky at Puny Entertainment, an interactive media studio. Danger & Eggs will be the first original series produced by Hardwick and Petosky since their partnership was announced. The pilot episode of Danger & Eggs was previewed by Amazon last month.
Comedians Aidy Bryant and Eric Knobel are already slated to star in Danger & Eggs, with more talent to be announced in the future.
