Catch Fire and Win a HUNGER GAMES Prize Pack

Surviving the game was just the beginning; now they’re playing with fire. Friday, November 22nd sees the release of the next exciting chapter in The Hunger Games film series, Catching Fire. In it, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has created too big a stir with her breakthrough win/sparing of Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), and now the government (led by Donald Sutherland) wants her, and all of the champions, shut up for good.

If you’re excited to embark on another journey into the deadliest of all televised events, you’ll certainly want to enter to win an exclusive Hunger Games Prize Pack. One (1) winner will receive the following: The Hunger Games on DVD, a Mockingjay pin, a Katniss Capitol portrait, a Peeta Capitol portrait, a Finnick Capitol portrait, a Quarter Quell poster, and a Catching Fire theatrical poster. Not too shabby, eh?

All you have to do to enter is have a valid email address and answer this one question in the comments below: If you were in the Hunger Games, and you got to the cornucopia first, what’s the weapon or tool you would grab?

That’s it! You’ve only got until midnight on Thursday, November 21st, 2013, to enter, or you may as well offer yourself up as tribute. And be sure to read all of the Official Rules so you know the ins, the outs, and the what-have-yous. And enjoy Catching Fire: The Hunger Games in theaters Friday, November 22nd.

  1. CandyP says:

I’d grab a backpack and knife or sword

  2. Shelley Smith says:

I’d grab a hunting knife. hopefully it’s that kind that has a compass on the handle, and a compartment in the handle that contains a fire starter, fishing line, and fish hook.

  3. I was going to change my answer to Jennifer Lawrence, like Joe D., but then, I realized I would have to kill her. Too much of a bummer. Unless I can “ally” with her.

  4. Keith Michael says:

Depends on the environment. A sharp trenching tool/ shovel would be good for the woods. I wouldn’t survive the melee at the cornucopia, so I would grab what I could and make for cover. I could use the tool to cut things, dig trenches, or as a weapon.

  5. Kristen says:

If a miracle were the happen and I were to get to the cornucopia first I would get a knife and an first aid kit for all of the times that I would accidentally injure myself with my own weapon. But if we’re talking seriously, I probably would fall off the platform before the games even start, and I wouldn’t even get to the cornucopia on account of me exploding into a million little pieces.

  6. Paul Lemieux says:

I would grab an invisibility cloak #butts

  7. Kristine says:

Something that would filter or clean water. If you can’t stay hydrated with clean water, you’re gonna die anyway.

  8. JPO says:

I’d just grab one of the backpacks if anything. Stuff seemed way more useful than weapons in the books.

  9. Jack Cibrian says:

Machine gun with unlimited supply of bullets.

  10. Jenn says:

Realistically, I’d need a versitle one-handed weapon to match my small frame. So I’d go for a machete. I may be a girl, but I’m strong and aggressive (with some mean ground skills.) Also would work for non-combative survival use. Cheers!

  11. Luis Alvarez says:

Supposing I can run and get away without getting killed by attempting to grab a weapon. I’d go for a crossbow … Or mjolnir … But a crossbow will suffice. I could soak the tips in poisonous plants and give everyone a mean rash!

  12. Brandy Haeckel says:

Crossbow. Go all Daryl on their asses.

  13. Allyson says:

A stevia packet filled with ricin.

  14. Priscilla says:

I probably wouldn’t even try to make it to the cornucopia to begin with, to be honest. That said, if I was the first person to make it there, I’d try to grab things that are not weapons and that would be more useful for survival– like something to keep water in, something to treat water with, rope, a bag to keep anything I scavenge in, a knife- which would be useful for tons of things, etc. I’d also probably try to grab some sort of close-range weapon (axe, sword, etc) just to use to fight my way away from the cornucopia once I’ve grabbed other things which I think are more useful.

  15. Michael Mclendon says:

I want a broadsword! Which sounds awesome until I consider the fact that I would have to murder kids with it at some point during the games.

  16. Jorge Sanchez says:

Crossbow just like my boy daryl from the walking dead lol

  17. Christopher Karber says:

I survival backpack, kill everyone with my bare hands.

  18. Annie says:

    The Invisibility cloak. Duh.

  19. Angela says:

If I were first to arrive at the Cornucopia I would grab a backpack because it can be used as a shield and may contain useful items; also any strong, heavy-ish, metallic stick that can be used to swing at attacker. And, any small metallic objects (coins) that can be thrown as a projectile weapon, if I were up a tree and the attacker was on ground.

  20. Robert says:

    A shield.

  21. Megan says:

Whatever was closest to me. Sorry that’s boring but I don’t really have any skills (nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills…).

  22. Sarah Grace says:

Any “ranged” weapon that is available. High-Precision crossbow would be choice.

  23. gerry says:

    the Death Star

  24. Matt says:

Depends on climate but probably shelter, water vessel, and knives if possible. Then RUN! Those people are crazy.

  25. Shawn says:

Dry socks. If you’re stuck in wet socks, you’re done.

  26. McKenzie says:

I would grab a sword – but just saying I would run in the opposite direction and then maybe try and form an alliance with some with food.

  27. kristy says:

I would grab nothing. Heck I would be heading in the oppsite direction.

  28. Chris says:

Medicine! I’d have to grab whatever kind of medicine I saw to help try to fix whatever injuries I’d inevitably garner.

  29. Joe Cuffe says:

    I’d grab Jennifer Lawerence.

  30. Amber says:

I would get any weapon that I could use from a decent range. Or a baseball bat….and swing away!

  31. Nichole says:

I would run away from it and hide for the entirety of the games until everyone killed each other off.

  32. If I were in the Hunger Games and got to the cornucopia first, the weapon I’d choose would be a knife. I’m no good at archery like Katniss, and I wouldn’t know how to use a trident like Finnick. However, if I was forced to, I’d be able to use a knife.

  33. Jason says:

Since you don’t have a whole lot of time to choose, I would hope for the best and grab whatever I could hoping that inside the stuff I grabbed was rope, matches, a knife, a container for water, explosives and some sort of long range weapon! I know its a lot to shoot for, but hey, what do you do?

  34. Nathaniel says:

    Bow & Arrow.

  35. One of those super-roomy tents from Harry Potter.

These books could totally take place in the same universe.

  36. Kyle Shuppert says:

    Definitely a hammer.

  37. Joe M. says:

    I would grab the Crossbow.

  38. Rudy says:

I’d go for a knife. Probably one of the most versatile tools in a survival situation.

  39. Vicki L. says:

I would grab rope, some kind of container that could hold water, and knives.

  40. Christoper says:

I would grab a shelter. For those rainy days.

  41. Desiree says:

I think I would grab a container for water and a blowgun, and, if time allows, an ax.

  42. Cody says:

The first thing I would try to grab is some sort of small container that could hold water (and hopefully iodine to treat the water with as well).

  43. beckie says:

Honestly, I think I would run away from it as quickly as possible, but if forced to choose, I would grab a gun or some other weapon that I don’t have to be close up to use..

  44. LC says:

Ax, sword, dagger, doesn’t matter as long as it’s sharp.

  45. Keith Evans says:

If I were to make the suicide run towards the cornucopia, I would grab the first thing I could and run as fast as possible. But I do believe i would avoid it like the plague and run in the opposite direction. Set up some traps in the woods and grab the weapons from the people I kill.

  46. Jeff says:

    Whatever ranged weapon(s) was available.

  47. greentree38 says:

If it is just one item I would grab a spade (small shovel)
I can use it as a weapon, shield, dig for food or water.

  48. Michael says:

    A tomahawk

  49. Tahnee Evans says:

I would grab a tent, as much rope as possible, a backpack and as many knives and sharp things I could put my hands on. Then I would run, set up my tent at least a day away from the Cornucopia. I would tie the ropes into a net and sting it around my tent. I would tie the knives and sharp things loosely up high, so if someone jingles the net, the knives will fall on them. Then I would get back as close as possible to the Cornucopia and climb a tree. I would wait until the Careers left and then hide in the Cornucopia and destroy their food as they sleep.
