Last season on The Flash, Carlos Valdes’ Cisco Ramon earned a reputation for giving superheroes and villains nicknames that lined up with their comic book counterparts. But Cisco also has a comic book counterpart, and a destiny that he may not want to explore.
In a new video for the upcoming second season of The Flash, Valdes touches upon Cisco’s emerging metahuman abilities and he seems to indicate that they will be the focus of Cisco’s story this season. The video also revisits the incident that awakened Cisco’s powers: his murder at the hands of Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) in an alternate timeline, which the Cisco of this timeline remembers in great detail.
“It’s something that Cisco has great difficulty coming to terms with,” said Valdes. “It’s very interesting because Cisco is the ultimate fanboy and he expresses this undying love for the heroes that he works with and that surround him. Now when he’s faced with a similar fate, he doesn’t know how to handle it.”
Because Cisco has been the comic relief and the heart of The Flash, casual fans may not realize that he is based on the DC superhero known as Vibe. Behold Cisco’s destiny!
Well…hopefully he’ll get a better costume on the TV show. As for the design…it was the ‘80s. That’s really all that needs to be said about it. You should also probably ignore his pre-New 52 comic book history as a former gang member and a breakdancer.
