BOJACK HORSEMAN Renewed for Season 4

BOJACK HORSEMAN Renewed for Season 4

It was early this morning that we welcomed BoJack Horseman back into our homes. We’ve spent these few and joyous hours reveling the release of the Netflix series’ third season with a Guten Bourbon, a full box of breakfast muffins, and a festive banner that reads, “Welcome Back, BoJack, Diane, and Mr. Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Is One Word.” Though we’ve barely had enough time to finish streaming this third string of episodes—at least not without the aid of a few uppers prescribed by the illustrious Dr. Hu—we already have a new reason to celebrate: BoJack Horseman has been renewed for a fourth season!

The announcement comes from the series’ official Twitter account, and was picked up by Vulture:

While many of us actually haven’t had time to engage with BoJack‘s long-awaited season three just yet, advance reviews thereof have promised no dip in the animated series’ rich supply of existential turmoil, screwball comedy, and ecologically efficient lome.

Season three sees BoJack battle new successes and failures in the form of the Academy Awards circuit and an unearthed relationship with an old colleague, while Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter work on mending their marriage, Princess Caroline endeavors toward some glimmer of happiness, and Todd continues to give names to various fires.

Although the quality of BoJack has only risen since its debut, there’s always uncertainty about programs with such distinctly niche appeal lasting as long as they deserve to. When it was announced earlier this month that Raphael Bob-Waksberg was hired to rewrite the LEGO Movie sequel, this boded well for this particularly unusual artist, but also suggested that Bob-Waksberg might be looking to make his move away from series writing and toward features.

Clearly, we’ve got nothing to worry about in the near future. We’ve got a whole new season of BoJack to enjoy as of today, and another one prepping to hit, presumably next summer (if the pattern continues). To borrow a phrase from one Mr. Chavez: Hooray!
