While we still have to wait until November 13 for Bob Odenkirk and David Cross’ new Netflix series W/ Bob and David to premiere, we at least have a new trailer to behold today from the Mr. Show alums. Check it out above.
From the trailer, we can glean that while the show will be unpredictable, it will feature Odenkirk and Cross talking to an intimate studio audience, a police officer not entirely comfortable with being the bad cop, unconvincing fake beards, dry cleaners with questionable sanitary standards, and the bad news that Hitler may have gone to Heaven.
There’s also confirmation of a couple guest stars: Key & Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key and Community’s Paget Brewster. Other previously announced guest stars include former Mr. Show players Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn, Jill Talley, Jay Johnston and John Ennis.
Netflix also shared a vibrant new poster for the show:
Reiterating earlier press releases, the video’s description describes the program, which will consist of four half-hour episodes and an hour-long making-of feature, “After being dishonorably discharged from the Navy Seals, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are back serving our country the way they do best–making sketch comedy.”
Let’s not forget also that the series is executive produced by, among others, Tim and Eric‘s Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, meaning that the most dominant absurdist comedy forces of the 90s and the 00s have come together for a creative endeavor, meaning that there is essentially no possibility of a flop here.
Do you think the show will live up to the hype? Let us know in the comments!
