Hey, who wants to read a plethora of new Hollywood casting news from several big upcoming films? Films like Blade Runner 2, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, and A Wrinkle in Time… You do? Well then, today’s Movie Morsels will be right up your alley. Bon appetit!
Blade Runner 2
While millions of Walking Dead fans will no doubt take his casting in the upcoming Blade Runner 2 to mean Lennie James’ character Morgan will be offed in the upcoming season of AMC’s smash hit show, it’s best not to speculate too much. After all, the series’ other stars have done recent film work and remained on the show; Lauren Cohan, for example, in this year’s The Boy and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Then again, most of those other Walking Dead stars were present at last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. Hmmm….
Pacific Rim 2: Maelstrom
In case you missed it, we were crestfallen to learn yesterday that Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam will not return for the sequel, Legendary’s Pacific Rim 2: Maelstrom. Sorry, Raleigh-Mako Shippers!

Jessica Chastain proved she has what it takes to star in any kind of techno-thriller with her turn in the acclaimed Zero Dark Thirty. Now the Oscar nominee (pictured above in A Most Dangerous Year) is in talks to star in an adaptation of the hit Ubisoft game The Division. If cast, Chastain would star opposite the always reliable Jake Gyllenhaal. Note: Having already starred in Prince of Persia, Gyllenhaal returns to the world of video game adaptations here.
A Wrinkle in Time
Talk show host and media mogul Oprah Winfrey has signed on to co-star in A Wrinkle in Time, the film adaptation of the beloved young adult science-fiction novel. Ava Duvernay, who directed Winfrey in Selma, has already been contracted to helm the film. Winfrey will play Mrs. Which, the most powerful (and strangest) of the Mrs. W trio, also including Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who, who act as guides to young Meg, Charles, and Calvin on their journey.
Office Christmas Party
Last but not least, we have a little bit of Christmas in July for you with the latest trailer for Office Christmas Party. The workplace comedy, directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, reteams Horrible Bosses stars Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston in a tale of very bad Yuletide behavior. Office Christmas Party opens on December 9. Enjoy!
