During the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars played new and classic tunes, proving that halftime shows don’t absolutely need Left Shark to be insanely entertaining. Beginning with hits, “Yellow,” “Viva La Vida,” and “Paradise,” Coldplay played their new single “Adventure of a Lifetime” before special guests/main attractions Bruno Mars and Beyonce stole the spotlight.
First we were treated to Bruno Mars performing an immaculately choreographed version of his ubiquitous single with Mark Ronson, “Uptown Funk.” But then the heavens parted and Queen Beyonce appeared at one of the end zones to perform her brand new single, “Formation.” As if this wasn’t already an overload of high production performances, Queen Bey and Bruno then engaged in a killer dance off that featured the two veteran performers struttin’ their stuff for all 100 million viewers tuning in.
After this lil’ dance off, Coldplay played “Fix You” as visuals of previous Super Bowl Halftime Shows flashed on screen. It was a tender moment that paid tribute to the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, and many more.
