The legendary Hideo Kojima is working on a game that’ll be coming exclusively to the PS4. But we already knew that. Now we know more. Kojima’s next game will be titled Death Stranding, and will star Norman Reedus as the main character. The trailer oozes Kojima Productions, with a somber tune called “I’ll Be Coming” by Low Roar setting the mood as we witness a naked Norman Reedus picking up a baby on a beach covered in oil and the festering corpses of dead animals. Trust us, it’s even stranger than it sounds. Feast your eyes on the clip above.
If you don’t recall, the legendary game developer was working on a Silent Hills project with The Walking Dead actor before the whole project was axed, so it’s not much of a surprise that the two have hooked up for Kojima’s first game as an independent developer. Now we wonder whether Guillermo del Toro will also be part of the title in some way.
I wonder how Konami is feeling at the moment?
There’s usually not this much hype surrounding a game that’s still so mysterious, but we aren’t talking about just any developer. Kojima has a knack for creating masterpieces. If we learned one thing from this trailer (which supposedly was running in real time), it’s that you can expect the usual mind-f*** from the man who gave us Metal Gear.
What did you think about the reveal trailer? Any theories as to what it could mean? Are you excited to see Norman Reedus working on a game again? Is Konami currently regretting their decision to let their legendary talent walk away? What did you think of Sony’s press conference? Let us know in the comments below!
