THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE. This is not a drill. Nor is it some trumped up fantasy brought to you by the lords and lasses of Internet tomfoolery: this is an actual photo of Christopher Walken, as Captain Hook, from NBC’s Peter Pan Live. And, well, it is just a thing of bizarre — and perfectly Walkenian — beauty.
Brought to us by the good souls over at Entertainment Weekly, the be-Hooked Walken stands tall with his slightly-rouged-up cheeks and that sweet, sweet faux mole on his right side. To say nothing of the blissfully bit of upper lip hair, outlining the hole from which his singing will emit. And oh what music it will be, said Walken in a wee interview.
“I’m not a good singer,” the actor told EW, but he won’t let a pesky thing like that stop him. Circumventing the game is Walken’s bread and butter, so he’s mixing it up and taking tips from another style of creative sing-song-y performing. “The songs are done almost like patter. Think Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady.”
So, just to be clear: Christopher Walken is going to Christopher Walken the shit out of Peter Pan Live. And it will be very, very good.
We know this because, well I mean: just look at that puddin’! Nothing could possibly go wrong with that mug on the mainstage. Even if Walken hasn’t heard Allison Williams sing herself, he was quoted as saying “I suspect she really can sing,” so there’s that. Personally, we’re convinced nothing but magic could come from a project involving that face of his. Because, I mean, just look at it. He’s like the fanciest bust at a very fancy wig shop.
