First BATMAN VS. TWO-FACE Trailer Reunites Adam West and William Shatner

Years before they went on to star in Batman and Star Trek, Adam West and William Shatner co-starred in a TV pilot for Alexander the Great, which failed to go to series. But before West passed away in June, he finished his recordings on their reunion project: Batman vs. Two-Face, the sequel to last year‘s animated movie, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. And this time, Shatner is taking on the Bright Knight as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

IGN has debuted the first trailer for Batman vs. Two-Face, which also features Burt Ward’s Robin the Boy Wonder appearing alongside West’s Batman for the last time. Two-Face was one of the few Bat-villains of the era who didn’t make it on the ’60s TV series, though there was at one point a plan for it (possibly with a young Clint Eastwood as Harvey Dent). In this trailer, we witness the new origin of Two-Face, as Professor Hugo Strange’s experiment to drain the evil from Gotham’s most dastardly criminals goes horribly awry.

We can’t help but notice a very Harley Quinn-like character who may very well be theĀ Harleen Quinzel of the Batman ’66 universe, although the Batman ’66 comic already introduced its version of Harley. It’s worth noting that the trailer seems to hint that Dent’s mental state wasn’t necessarily that stable to begin with. But once the Two-Face persona comes out, Bruce Wayne’s former friend doesn’t seem to have any use for the Caped Crusader. However, Two-Face does appear to be teaming with a surprising ally to use Robin as a very reluctant test subject.

Batman vs. Two-Face is expected to be released this fall on digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
