ATTN Seattle! Come Out to the Showbox @ Market Tonight!

This is about a third of the Nerdist Seattle Street Team. These wonderful peeps took time out of their lives to help promote my show for the last couple of weeks. Friday night, we went to Cafe Metropolitain in Capitol Hill where we watched a hypnotic 80s burlesque show (that’s 80s music, not 80 year-old ladies) and then a handful of us went across the street for tea and pie.

The street team has been an amazing experiment that worked well beyond any expectations I had. Not only did ticket sales improve, but I had the pleasure of hanging out with a group of fun, creative and nice folks. None of these street teamers really knew each other before this, but I get the sense that new friendships were forged during drag queen belly dancing. Ultimately, this is a case where the Internet helped create a community reaching into meatspace, and isn’t that the way it should be?

As far as I know, there are still a few tickets left for this show tonight so if you have time, make a spontaneous decision to go. Mike Phirman will be opening and there will be stand-up and music. I can promise you a terrific show. If you hate it, I will take a picture with you where I’m shrugging and you’re wagging a finger at me. You can post it online, and I’ll retweet it as a sign that I failed to hold up my end of the bargain…but I swear that will not happen!!!

Last few tickets HERE!
(If online sales have stopped, come on down and we’ll make room for ya!)

  1. Joel Telling says:

Your visit to Seattle was EPIC!

Thanks for good times and desserts on Friday. We all will be your street team anytime! Your show on Saturday was the best comedy show I’ve seen in a long, long time.

  2. Deltus says:

Apparently, the show was a success. When will someone invent transporter booth technology, akin to what humans had in the Ringworld series by Niven, so that I could’ve been there?

  3. Tracy says:

Loved the show last night! Don’t let faulty microphones keep you away in the future…

  4. Myra says:

Your show was awesome and your stand-up top notch. I was so impressed by how comfortable you were with crowd participation! I haven’t laughed that hard in a very long time.

Thanks for putting Seattle in your cue.

  5. Lee says:

I should clarify. When I say “make sure it doesn’t suck”, I mean the show, not your role.

  6. Lee says:

    Speaking of American Doctors.

Chris Hardwick: Are you aware that an American version of Torchwood is currently in development at Fox? Get yourself a role and make sure it doesn’t suck.

  7. todraw says:

Hi, Chris coolz, i would’ve come to ur shows, but i dun even live in the USA. xD

So just seen the photo so i was wonderin how tall r u? U seem quite tall on the photo. ^^

  8. Matt says:

  9. Jay says:

Great show! Loved the audience participation — especially, the “Motorhead” bit!

  10. donald r says:

Why oh why are you in Seattle tonight? I’m in Portland for MC Chris and Dan Deacon… ARG WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE!?

  11. Brent says:

Absolute fun last night! Thanks for hanging with us peeps last night. If hangin with you wasnt cool enough…to-die-for apple crisp and a near topless Annie Lennox impersonator…..all in the same night…..Really?! EPIC!

  15. Peter says:

Don – I was thinking more of an older, douchebag-less MTV reality show……if such a thing could ever exist

  16. Patti says:

I don’t know how it’s possible, but I love you even more after reading your post. What fun! I’m so glad these people were so willing to promote your show *really, who wouldn’t wanna do thst?*, and hang out with you. It’s nice to see you speak so highly of them. Have a great show tonight! Wish I could be there, but I’m in Michigan, plus, I have band prctice. That’s right, I sing in a rock band. Good times…

  17. Don says:

It looks like a publicity pic for the new American “The Doctor” and his eight companions!

  18. NerdRage42 says:

say whu? There was a Nerdist Seattle Street Team and I didn’t know about it? Buh-doh! I’d have been there in a second because….I am unemployed…and a big dork…
