Deluxe re-releases of albums are usually pretty hit-or-miss, especially albums that just came out just two years ago, but Arcade Fire aren’t about to be another statistic: The deluxe reissue of Reflektor was released on September 25, and it includes not two, not three, not four… but six (one is a remix) brand new bonus tracks: “Apocrypha”, “Women of a Certain Age”, “Soft Power”, “Get Right”, “Crucified Again”, and a remix of “Flashbulb Eyes” by reggae musician Dennis Bovell. Check out all the new songs, along with the rest of the deluxe edition, below, via Spotify.
The six new songs are set to be released by themselves on a collection called The Reflektor Tapes–just like the band’s documentary that is currently in theaters–which will be available on October 16 and only on cassette tape. “Get Right” and “Crucified Again”, which the band played live during their most recent tour, were also recently released as a two-song single, on 7-inch vinyl.
Speaking of their documentary, the band released a trailer for it in August, and said of the film: “There were parts of the Reflektor tour where I think we, Arcade Fire, came the closest in our careers to putting on stage what we imagined in our heads. We were insanely lucky to have Kahlil Joseph documenting from the very beginning.”
And as if Arcade Fire doesn’t have their hands tied up in enough ventures, Win Butler and Régine Chassagne have also decided to open up a Haitian restaurant in Montreal, and when it opens, we believe that will make it possible to experience Arcade Fire with all of the human senses.
