And Here’s The New, Full GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Trailer

And just as promised this morning, here it is, the full trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy:

The trailer debuted tonight on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. I’m not sure about any trailer that features Blue Swede’s version of “Hooked on a Feeling” (OOGA CHAKA OOGA OOGA), but John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz doing their best eye-rolling (“what a bunch of a-holes”) works pretty well. Plus, hot raccoon action (NOT THAT KIND), and Chris Pratt being Chris Pratt and Starlord all at once. Plus, take a look at Karen Gillan in her full make-up:

Karen Gillan Guardians of the Galaxy

August 1st. Excited? Tell all below.

  1. Vaski says:

gah right! Read through Hon’s response…U SILLY! STAHP!

  2. Stephen says:

H, you are an idiot. Let me break it down for you,

Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, Batman = DC comics/Warner Brothers.

X-Men, Spider-man, Iron Man, Avengers, Thor, Captain America, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY = Marvel/Various

Your rant is the same as blaming Microsoft for a shitty iphone.

  3. H says:

Wow. They’ll make a movie with a fucking talking racoon but they won’t make a Wonder Woman movie. Cuz you know it’s not like a movie with a female lead could do just as well as a redone Avengers. Quit beating the dead horse with Superman movies and Avengers movies and sequels to superhero films you’ve already made, and do Wonder Woman. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do fucking Aquaman before they’ll do a Wonder Woman film.

  4. Fartbooty says:

    Two words “Oooga Chagga!”

  5. Tina says:

I lol’d at “Sorry. I didn’t know how this machine worked.” Yeah, I want to see it. I might even look for some comics to get a little background.

  6. conrado001 says:

I don’t understand the reaction to the comedy. It’s pretty clear that it is played up for this specific trailer. The comparison to Spaceballs is lunacy. More than likely it will have about the same amount of comedy as the Avengers had which was a good amount. Stop being stupid people.

  7. rgmadd7 says:

Looks amazing! If your nay saying, it’s because you don’t know anything about the Guardians of the Galaxy. Read Annihilation Conquest. And no, this movie won’t be just for kids, spiderman was kiddier than this will be. All the characters have great backstories even the raccoon. Give it a try you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised.

  8. Meg says:

    Awesomeness! Can’t wait!

  9. mark miller says:

I think interesting that Marvel’s willing to make this film more irreverent . How serious can you get with that raccoon anyway? Let DC get all broody and dark.

  10. anna says:

Hell yes I am excited! I love this kind of movie, and this one is way out there…..a raccoon? and funny too.

  11. MojoJody says:

@T_dn Before you let the hate flow through you let me clear something up , this buddy film is based off a comic book, you do know that there is more than one kind of comic book in the world right? Not everything has to have capes and spandex cause you know thats cool, plus as far as the influence of disney, this movie was in the works before that acquisition even happened, plus marvel would have made it a long time ago if they hadn’t been losing money on the cool ips they have, class dismissed .

  12. Betty Dobson says:

Will SO see this just for the CGI raccoon — he looks fantastic!

  13. Jack says:

is it the first time marvel makes a comedy???? Sound scary!!!

  14. Mike says:

Finally! I wonder if Adam Warlock will make an appearance and I’m sad they didn’t include starhawk or Quasar but I guess those two would be a bit hard to cast and would cost more money to animate. And to answer Seth Frederiksen, Nova was never part of GotG, she was one of galactus’ heralds, and the other Nova wasn’t either, he was part of Secret Avengers and mostly Champions of Xandar. He only made brief appearances on GotG comics to my knowledge though I can’t wait till he’s depicted in upcoming movies!

  15. Jacob says:

This movie looks awesome ! Marvel is making its first foray into space and I couldn’t be any happier ! Give it a chance people and stop turning your nose up at it and calling it for kids just because it has humor and creatures/animals…Star Wars anyone ? (The originals because hey that’s all they made right ?) Count me in and heres to August first coming as soon as it possibly can ! HOOKAH CHAKA !

  16. Roger Kaikko says:

    Looks interesting

  17. Pirocão says:

    SO FUCKING AWESOME!

  18. gleason says:

Why does everyone have to be such a douche when commenting.. It looks like a funny movie so far with some kicking ass parts thrown in there. So put your negative thoughts in your pocket and smile. Holy Shit… :)

  19. JimB says:

Not really sure about this one…I hope there is a more serious parts to this movie…not all joking around…To much light hearted humor and this movie could really blow…We do not need another Spaceballs movie…Avengers type in space is more of what mavel needs to continue their string of great movies…Just my opinion though…

  20. Richard says:

Can’t be as bad as “Howard the Duck”.

  21. Kevin K. says:

If it’s anywhere near as good as this, I will be happy.

  22. Alfie says:

At last, something for the kids! Yeah, won’t be seeing this one.

  23. KentGeek says:

This might be the riskiest move yet by Marvel. It looks good enough to get me into the theater, but I’m not much of a judge of mainstream tastes. (I thought Watchmen would be a hit, duh.)

  24. Terry says:

I agree, John. Introducing new characters (well, new to most people) is difficult, and I think this will be a great, FUN movie to watch. I am sure the FAMOUS Starlord and company will win doubters over with subsequent trailers.

  25. Larisa says:

Looks like a blast! Can’t wait!

  26. This is going to rule so fucking hard. I love that Marvel is brave enough to just go with it.

  27. Grace says:

Looks AWESOME. I’m psyched- and I believe James Gunn knows how to mix humor with action and drama. It’s not like Iron Man was very well known before it became a massive hit. Can’t wait for August!

  28. John says:

Not sure what people are complaining about. The trailer does the important job of introducing the bunch to everybody and did it pretty well. I’m intrigued more now to see it. Chris Pratt looks like he’s got the right amount of snark backed up by some heavy hitters. Also really interested to see Karen Gillan as badguy since I only know her from Doctor Who.

I look forward to another trailer to give us some more of the plot but this was a pretty good intro IMO.

  29. Jay says:

YES! It’s going to be full of teh WIN!

Director James Gunn has already said that more characters will be popping up in trailer 2, which will likely have a darker tone. So let’s just all be excited for this one, m’kay?

  30. Cartman says:

This is going to kick ass!! I am so excited I cant breath!!!!

  31. Bobbi says:

I never read the comics, but the movie trailer REALLY reminds me of the Buckaroo Banzai. I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

  32. Carterman71 says:

Seth Fredricksen, John C Reilly is playing Rhonan Dey , the Centurion who gives Richard Rider his powers in the comics to make him Nova .
that aside , can’t wait to see this and with the Kree and Xandarians involved , it could be long til we see some Captain Mar-vell and Nova ?

  33. T_ says:

A Marvel “buddy” comedy…OMFG…how dumb does that look.

Did Adam Sandler direct this POC?

Wow…Disney is NOT helping Marvel at all…family friendly super-hero films…maybe The Little Mermaid will join the Avengers next!

  34. Griffon says:

disappointed, looks entertaining but doesn’t leave me wanting to see it.

  35. NeuroMan42 says:

James Gunn, Marvel, and sarcastic attitude… YES!!!

  36. Fartbooty says:

I love how they started out with the guy sayin “Who are you?” because I was thinking the same thing. I feel like the director knew that these characters weren’t as well known as the other Marvel characters/superheros, so that line was brilliant. I mean I knew who Chris Pratt was, but didn’t know who his character was and never heard of the Guardians until Comic Con. I know Zoe Saldana from Star Trek, Dave Bautista, Benicio, John C. Reilly … Also Rocket Raccoon was in the Marvel vs Capcom games so that’s how I knew of him, he was badass Nova’s in it too!

  37. Justin says:

The green chick isn’t Amy Pond. The bald, blue chick is Amy Pond.

  38. CubanRefugee says:

Fartbooty: No, Gamora is Zoe Saldana. Karen Gillian plays Nebula.

  39. Damocles74 says:

I was totally expecting a serious take and i am pleasantly surprised to see them take it in a different direction. I’m on board.

  40. Alana says:

I know absolutely NOTHING about this, is it a book series or comic books? but as a newbie, am interested. The characters seem intriguing and I’ve always suspected there was more to raccoons than meets the eye.

Feel free to say “The book was better.” That’s ok, someone has to.

  41. Testychicken says:

Awesome! Cant wait to see it. I however fear people will soon be using the term “coon” too liberally.

  42. Fartbooty says:

I’d totally bone the green chick Shatner style! Also isn’t that Amy Pond?

  43. Scott Key says:

This movie looks like it is going to be lots of fun. Not really a “serious” comic movie, but lets be honest, Marvel knows how to bring the drama with the goofy.

  44. Fartbooty says:

I was waiting for that dancing baby from Ally McBeal to show up lol

  45. Fran says:

This trailer had me at “Who?” I will pay to see this on the big screen…

  46. Joe H says:

I’m good with it. It looks like a lot of action and comedy and as much as I love the serious Nolan Batman movies, this looks like a ton of fun.

  47. Chimpinalls says:

    Yup.

  48. Jared says:

Not sure how i feel about it yet…it looks fun! Am I gonna see it? Of course! Just…still that weird feel like, that same feeling ya had during the Thor 2 scene…

  49. Um…not to be a pain…but where’s Nova?

  50. Razoe says:

    not excited
