Sisters is set to hit theaters on December 18, so in a few days, America’s favorite duo, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be reunited on-screen for the first time since 2008’s Baby Mama–or since the 70th, 71st and 72nd Golden Globe Awards if you want to count that, which we do, because they were wonderful display of excellence in hosting.
To ramp up anticipation for the flick, Fey and Poehler have starred in a short sketch for Comedy Central alongside Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson from Broad City (of which Poehler is an executive producer). In the clip, Glazer and Jacobson are drunk, vandalizing, gambling, thieving delinquents the likes of which the judge they stand before has never seen.
That’s when Fey and Poehler come in, who take the sisters under their wing to put them on the path of righteousness. Oh yeah, and also, they’re nuns.
They attempt to show them the way towards leading a purer life, but it doesn’t go well at first. Glazer and Jacobson are convinced that rosary beads have a more… sexual purpose than the nuns are letting on. They also get their bong confiscated, which Poehler needs to test for some reason.
The Broad City ladies propose that the four of them, two pairs of sisters, should make a movie together, but the nuns don’t have much faith in the idea, saying “I don’t think people want to see that many women talking at once. They’ll just be like, ‘Ahh, what are you yelling about?'”
We humbly disagree and are quite excited for Sisters.
