AMERICAN GODS Cast and Creators Dish on the Show’s Expanded View

If it hasn’t been made clear enough up until this point, we’re really excited for American Gods. The Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s epic novel has been all our tongues have wagged about for months now—especially with the announcement that Bryan Fuller and Michael Green would lead the small screen expedition. So it’s no surprise we were out of our gourds with very little chill when we had the gang show up to our Camp Conival stage during SDCC. Joining Gaiman, Fuller, and Green to talk about the show’s expanded viewpoint, actors Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon), Ian McShane (Mr. Wednesday), Pablo Schreiber (Mad Sweeney), Yetide Badaki (Bilquis), and Bruce Langley (Technical Boy) all turned out to be as jazzed about the source material as we.

But they were especially jazzed on all that we’ve yet to see—mainly because the show is set to paint with a much wider brush when it comes to expanding the points of view of the other characters involved. Because when it comes to the battle between the old gods and the new, you’re going to want to know as much as possible about your friends and enemies. Check out a highlight reel from our chat in the video above!

Most exciting to us? (Outside of seeing more Bilquis, which: yes please! Badass god is badass.) The tidbit about Mad Sweeney: apparently Gaiman sent an email of the 4,000-year history of the leprechaun to Green and Fuller. And if any of those guys is reading this, guys: feel free to send that email our way!

Are you looking forward to American Gods heading our way in 2017? Let us know in the comments below!
