Looks like Agent Carter isn’t going to be the only ass-kicking lady in her forthcoming midseason debut: Nikita star (and the daughter on How I Met Your Mother!), Lyndsy Fonseca has been cast in a recurring role on the ABC and Marvel series.
Though perhaps most visually known for her role in that long-winded story of Ted’s (she always knew you wanted to bag Aunt Robin, Dad), Fonseca is no stranger to bringing the pain and taking names, as she was also a star on The CW’s reboot of Nikita starring Maggie Q that ended last year. There she played Alex, a mole within Division (their universe’s shadow-y and secretive U.S. government organization for black ops missions) that had a strong but tempestuous relationship with Nikita.
In her recurring role on the Hayley Atwell-fronted Marvel series, Fonseca is slated to play Angie Martinelli, an aspiring actress who befriends Peggy Carter early on in the series. It feels safe to assume that Fonseca is likely to get wrapped up in Agent Carter’s high-flying life, so here’s hoping Angie can hold her own. Given whom they’ve cast, though, it feels like she just might!
Fonseca joins an already impressive cast of characters, including Chad Michael Murray as Jack Thompson (an SSR agent), Enver Gjokaj as Daniel Sousa (an SSR agent and war vet), Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark (Tony’s dad), James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis (Stark’s butler), Shea Whigham as Roger Dooley (Agent Carter’s boss), and Kyle Bornheimer as Agent Ray Krzeminski.
Could we be any more anticipatory of this show? We think not.
