Have you wondered what it’s like to spend a day with the Nerdist Master Builder himself, Chris Hardwick? Well, if you’re assuming it’s a lot of dressing up in costumes, partaking in pop cultural awesomeness, and thinking up and saying humorous things for the betterment of ears and eyes everywhere, then you, dear friend, would be pretty much correct. In the first episode of Totino’s Adventure People!, Chris tells you what it’s like to be him. “Epic” is the word his 13-year-old self would use to describe his life now, and we’re pretty sure even that undersells it.
Spend a day with Chris as he signs autographs at WonderCon, performs standing up comedy at The Meltdown, gets made up in weird ways for photoshoots and the like, and hear his philosophy on being the Nerdiest Nerdist he can be. And that’s just episode one! Each week, Adventure People!, a 6-episode series, will highlight a different person’s extraordinary or, indeed, epic life.
But that’s not everything, friends; this video also features a contest for all up-and-coming comedians out there. If you submit your 2-4 minute stand-up set as a YouTube or Vimeo link to totinosliving.com/enter between May 1st and May 22nd, 2015, you could be chosen to be our Favorited Comedian, which will give you a grand opportunity to showcase yourself. You’ll be featured on the next Nerdist Podcast Stand-up Cluster (an episode of the podcast which has featured Chris’ favorite comedians, including Kyle Kinane, Kumail Nanjiani, Ron Funches, Ali Wong, and more) on June 8th 2015. But that’s not all — you’ll also get to open for Chris Hardwick for his set at San Diego Comic-Con. That’s exposure to the Nth degree! (Nth stands for Nerdist-th).
So if you’ve got the comedy chops to be a Totino’s Awesome People (Person), then send your videos in ASAP, and check back on Nerdist.com to see another person with a job that makes us excited and jealous.
