Adele is a British singer whose 2011 album 21 proved to be a major international hit, thanks largely to the album’s commercial breakthrough track, “Rolling In The Deep”. We’re reminding you who Adele is because she’s been very quiet since then, and the world has been wanting her to make a new album oh so very, very badly.
Good and long-awaited news emerged from the Adele camp today, and we now know that her third album, which is as of yet without a title (but rumored to be called 25), is scheduled for release this November via XL Recordings. Beyond that, here’s what what we know: Danger Mouse has worked on the album, and producer Max Martin has also worked on a single. Ryan Tedder, who produced and co-wrote Adele’s “Rumour Has It”, is somehow involved in the album. Tobias Jesso Jr., whose 2015 album Goon is fantastic and fantastically inspired by 70s singer-songwriters, also co-wrote one of the album’s tracks.
Ed Sheeran knows slightly more than we do. Back in July Sheeran said, “I haven’t heard [the album], but everyone I know who’s worked on it is just like, ‘Dude… that record!’ Apparently, it’s really good.”
And that is where the trail of breadcrumbs ends. In the meantime, let’s fill the comments below with speculation: Will Adele keep up with all the changes in music from the past five years, or will she be stuck in 2011? Will the album win all of the Grammys, or just most of the Grammys?
