DESTINY 2 Trailer Reveals Release Date and Even More Nathan Fillion

As we saw a couple days ago in the teaser video for Destiny 2, Nathan Fillion is reprising his role of Cayde-6, the most entertaining Hunter Vanguard, and it’s gonna be hilarious. Activision proved that today with the release of the first Destiny 2 trailer, which shows two very different approaches for leading troops into battle.

As the clip shows, the world of Destiny isn’t doing so hot, since it looks like basically everything has been destroyed. There are survivors, though, and it’s up to them to rally together and fight for their future. The trailer focuses on two very distinct groups: One squad led by Commander Zavala (voiced by Lance Riddick), and one fronted by Cayde-6.

Zavala motivates his men with a dramatic monologue, saying things like, “Times may be dark, but we are Earth’s greatest hope. Look around you: a gathering of noble guardians new and old.” Meanwhile, Cayde-6 begins his speech, “OK, listen up. Um, you’re a bunch of dirty misfits. But you’re all that’s left, so you’ll have to do.” If this isn’t a fantastic setup for a game, we don’t really know what is.

The game comes out on September 8 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and, for the first time in the Destiny franchise, PC. It’s available for pre-order on all platforms now, and the various editions include goodies like exclusive digital content, a custom bag, and stuff like that.

Does this trailer have you as pumped about Destiny 2? Let us know, and feel free to tell us which team you’d rather be on: The strict command of Zavala, or the loosey-goosey leadership of Nathan Fillion.
