A SNES-Style “Doctor Who” Opening Sequence

Was it you who asked for a redo of the current Doctor Who opening credit sequence in Super Nintendo style? No? Here it is anyway:

If you like the SNES-ized theme, you can download it here. It’s by Doctor Octoroc, 8-bit maestro, who’s done things like last year’s reimagining of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (more NPH!) as an 8-bit Nintendo game:

Come up with a Colecovision version of Parks and Recreation and I’ll REALLY be impressed.

That is so awesome!!!! Thanks for posting that! I kind of wanted to see a how a 16-bit version of a Doctor Who game would have worked… to bad nobody has made one… yet. Speaking of Doctor Who, if anyone is interested, click on my name to read my review of the latest Doctor Who episode. Not that I want to take the wind out of the sails from Kyle Anderson, who covers Doctor Who like a champ on this site! I anxiously await to what he thought of “The Almost People” as well.

    What?

What happened to the “When I was a little girl I had an imaginary friend” part?

Oh yeah…that part’s stupid. This one rocks!

I want to know if Karen Gillan is still as smoking hot in 16 bits.

Here’s another Doctor Octoroc/Whedonesque for us Whedweebs (did I just coin a new phrase?) 16-bit Firefly theme: https://8bc.org/music/Doctor+Octoroc/16-Bit+%22Firefly%22+Theme+Song+%28Joss+Whedon%29/

  9. I want to play that game! However, where was the “Press Start?”
