As the summer winds down and school gets back in session, it’s safe to say that most folks’ video game time will be hit with a slight (or substantial) reduction. Which means, if you didn’t take the time to hop into most of the wonderful titles that have been released so far this year, you’re probably going to head into the holiday season with a bit of a backlog. What makes matters even worse is the fact that there are a ton of games set to be released as the next-gen consoles begin to hit their stride—way more than years prior. Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain launch on September 1, with Halo 5: Guardians, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, and many more games coming out not too long after. Looks like that backlog isn’t going to be getting attention anytime soon—possibly even expanding by the time the year’s over.
On this week’s Nerdist: Play, we’ll be firing off a list of games that you should consider cramming into your gaming schedule before things get real heavy at the start of next month. Is there something on this list you’ve been meaning to try? What games that have released this year do you think people should play as soon as possible? Let us know how you feel in the comments below.
